Florida lawyer, Dawn Vallejos-Nichols graduated from the University of Florida College of Law with honors in 1994 and spent two years providing free legal services to the poor at Three Rivers Legal Services before joining Avera & Smith, LLP in 1996. She currently practices primarily in the areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, medical negligence and wrongful death.

Dawn has obtained several six-figure personal injury settlements and been co-counsel on several jury trials resulting in seven figure verdicts. She served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Justice Association from 2003-2006 and was the 2004-05 Chair of the Women’s Caucus Section of the AFTL. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association and is editor of the Bar’s monthly newsletter. In the community, Dawn has recently become a member of the Constituency Board for CARD, the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the U.S. District Courts of the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. Dawn also holds lifetime memberships in the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi.
